The 39 Steps

by Patrick barlow

A cast of only four actors take on over a 139 characters in this face-paced comedy following a fugitive’s riotous adventure from London to the Scottish Highlands and back again. Richard Hannay, a man bored by life, finds himself accidentally caught up in an enormous secret spy operation to save the country from an unknown forced called ‘The 39 Steps’... the only problem is, he has no idea who they are, what they’re doing or when they’re doing it. What could go wrong?

Performed outside in the glorious Beacon Amphitheatre, this was an evening of the most ridiculous and and ridiculously sweaty characters you’ve ever seen. Containing chases by dogs, chases on trains, chases by planes, obscure facial expressions, old people dribbling, a plethora of funny walks, faulty handcuffs, water pistols and… sheep. Baaaaa.
